24-Hour Crisis Line:

What happens when you call our Crisis Line?
When you call our 24-Hour Crisis Line, your call goes to a local centralized answering service that runs out of Grand Forks. They ask your first name, your phone number, and the reason you're calling. Then they connect you with one of our trained advocates, who will talk with you and help you figure out the services you need, which may include a Protection Order or temporarily moving into our Shelter. All of our advocates take turns being "on-call" during the night and on weekends, so if there is ever an emergency that's not during business hours, there will always be someone available to assist you. Calling us does not mean that you need to take action - we understand that sometimes, people just need someone to talk to. Everything you share with us is kept entirely confidential to ensure that you feel safe and empowered when taking that first step towards finding help.
Our normal hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. If you need immediate assistance outside of this time frame, please call our 24-Hour Crisis Line.
